Light, shadow, primary colors and the intimacy of the fleeting snapshots of his surroundings – these are the characteristics of the photographs by Markus Himberger (cf. Hribernig).
Born on May 27th, 1975 in Graz, he was fond of various art forms from an early age, his first love was music. A passion that he is allowed to live out with a degree in sound engineering at SAE Vienna in the mid-90s and then as a DJ to this day.
His later, intensive engagement with art history finally led him to painting with light: photography. Self-taught, he learned the craft of this art form, which he perfected last year with a two-semester course at the LIK Photo Academy in Vienna and workshops with renowned street photographers in London.
He also takes on the elaboration and creation of his fine art prints, preferably on Hahnemuhle Baryta, in order to be able to keep an eye on the effect of his works at every stage.
